39MM NARROW GLIDE / FXR / EARLY DYNA
Some 39mm Narrow Glide, FXR, and early Dyna front ends may have clearance issues. The head on the ARP bolt will sit too high and can hit the fork leg.
Check rotor bolt clearance before ordering and again during installation.
FXR WITH MECHANICAL SPEEDOMETER
Some FXR applications using a mechanical speedometer may experience clearance issues.
Verify your particular front wheel, speedometer drive, rotor, and front-end configuration before ordering.

Black Oxide ARP
Want the hardware to disappear into a darker wheel or blacked-out front end?
Choose Black Oxide.
Black oxide is a conversion coating that produces the dark finish without adding significant dimensional thickness to the fastener.
It provides a classic performance-hardware appearance but does require regular maintenance to preserve the finish and help prevent oxidation.
Don't wait until your black oxide hardware begins showing oxidation or rust before maintaining it.
Regularly clean and lightly protect the bolts—especially after washing the motorcycle or riding in wet, humid, or dirty conditions.
Once oxidation becomes established, restoring that deep black appearance becomes considerably more difficult.
Want a brighter finish with easier cosmetic maintenance?
Choose Stainless Steel.
The stainless finish provides a clean contrast against dark wheels and brake components and is an excellent choice for riders who prefer the machined/stainless hardware look.

Black oxide is different from paint, chrome, or a thick plated coating.
The dark finish is created through a conversion process, and the hardware receives protective oil as part of that process.
That's why new black oxide ARP bolts may arrive with a slightly oily surface.
That's normal.
The oil helps protect the finish.
To maintain your Black Oxide ARP hardware:
Clean hardware regularly
Dry the area after washing your motorcycle
Avoid allowing moisture and road grime to remain on the bolts
Periodically wipe the hardware with a light protective oil
Pay additional attention in wet or humid environments
Maintain the finish before visible oxidation develops
Products such as WD-40 or Silikroil can be applied to a rag and used to lightly wipe and protect the hardware.
Regular maintenance is much easier than trying to restore neglected Black Oxide hardware after corrosion has already developed.
